TECHNICAL DESCRIPTIONS
'LEGAL FOR TRADE' OR 'APPROVED'
All transactions where a product is sold directly by measured weight are
controlled by Trading Standards, and any scale used for this purpose must
be 'stamped' by this authority as approved for this use.
CAPACITY AND DIVISION SIZE
The capacity of a scale is the maximum weight it is designed to measure.
Division size is the size of the incremental changes in displayed weight.
For example 15 Kg x 1 g means that the scale will measure up to 15 Kg in
steps of 1 gram.
STANDARD TARE
The ability to re-zero a scale when a bag or container etc. is placed on
it in order that only the weight of the contents is displayed.
PRESET TARE
This is used typically to save time where the same weight of container is
repeatedly used. The container is weighed once and this value is stored
in the machine. The product can then be weighed whilst already in the container
with the resultant displayed weight value being that of the net contents.
CALIBRATION & CERTIFICATION
Do your scales require calibration and certification for I.S.O.? Our calibration
service offers you an easy solution. We will calibrate any self-contained
item of industrial or retail weighing equipment sent to us and supply
you with a Certificate of Calibration if required and return the equipment
to you. Should the equipment fail the calibration, we can offer you a
quick turn round repair at a very competitive price. If your equipment
is too large for carrier transportation and you are in the Nottingham,Derby,
Leicester or Lincolnshire area we could arrange a speedy on-site service
at an extremely good price. Calibration procedures carried out in accordance
with UK Weighing Federation code of practice 1998. All weights used are
traceable to UK National Standards (Certificate of conformity available
on request.)

UKAS / IN-HOUSE CERTIFICATION
|
All our weights can be certified by either
UKAS or Non-UKAS accredited Trading Standards Offices for ISO 9000
or other purposes, i.e. the weights will be certified “Traceable to
National Standards”.
N.B. Total cost is certification fee per weight, plus cost
of the certificate listing them.
